The Government of Uttar Pradesh led by Yogi Adityanath stops grant to 46 madrasas after finding abnormalities in their functioning.
Uttar Pradesh Government also launched a portal on which all 19000 madrasas running in the state have to register, but out of these only 3000 madrasas have registered themselves. The remaining madrasas could face the consequences and could be derecognized by the Madarsa Board.
The madrasas whose grant has been stopped by the government are from Kanpur, Kushinagar, Kannauj, Mau, Azamgarh, Maharajganj, Siddhartha Nagar, Mahoba, Shravasti, Banaras, Faizabad, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Barabanki, Sant Kobirnagar, Jhansi districts.
Indian National Congress, meanwhile, impeached BJP of not respecting any religion.
“BJP does not respect any religion”,Said Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad while Speaking to news agency ANI.
“The basic difference between our and BJP’s ideology is that the Congress party respects every religion but BJP and its leadership do not support this,” Azad told ANI.
A joint committee comprising a District Magistrate, District Inspector of Schools and District Minority Welfare Officers was investigating the matter.
